Your employees are one of your greatest assets. By understanding and supporting menopause in the workplace, you can help improve wellbeing, engagement, retention, and productivity. I work with organisations to increase awareness, build leadership confidence and create supportive workplace environments.

Menopause doesn't just affect women. It affects partners, families, colleagues, managers, and workplaces. By increasing awareness and understanding, men can play a vital role in creating supportive conversations, stronger relationships, and more inclusive working environments. When everyone understands menopause, everyone benefits.
So, here's my story.
In 2020, my life changed overnight when I underwent surgery to remove my ovaries and was suddenly thrown into menopause at the age of 41.
The care I received following my surgery was, quite honestly, inadequate. My requests for HRT were repeatedly denied because of my age, despite the fact that I had entered surgical menopause. I was told, "You don't need it." But I did, desperately.
Within weeks, my mental and physical health deteriorated dramatically. The impact was so severe that my husband had to call an ambulance and the police. I genuinely believed I was losing myself. Out of sheer desperation, I sought private medical care. It took six long months before I began to feel like myself again.
Determined to understand what had happened to me, I immersed myself in learning everything I could about menopause, its symptoms, treatments, and the realities that so many women face in silence.
Then, in 2023, I faced another life-changing challenge when I was diagnosed with Medullary Thyroid Cancer. This experience further strengthened my passion for advocacy, highlighting the importance of early intervention, and ensuring that people feel heard, supported, and empowered when navigating complex health journeys.
Today, through Menopause Life by Jen, I empower organisations to create menopause aware workplaces through awareness and conversations. My mission is simple.
Facilitate conversations.
Raise awareness.
Support individuals and organisations.
I'm here to make it happen.

Menopause Action Plans
In the UK, menopause action plans are becoming a formal legal requirement for larger employers.
Under the Employment Rights Act 2025, organisations with 250 or more employees are expected to.
Start preparing and publishing action plans from April 2026 (voluntary phase)
Be legally required to publish them from 2027.
These plans must outline the practical steps the organisation is taking to support employees experiencing menopause, often alongside gender pay gap reporting.
